Sonburst began in 1990. We met at the Holiday Inn across from UCF and had about 250 students attend. The conference was originally designed to be and training and missions conference that would prepare students for being witnesses both on the campus and in the marketplace. But in addition to this Sonburst was also concerned with developing students into world-Christians - who would reflect God's heart for the campus and the globe.
This will be the 19th year for Sonburst (don't trip on the math, it was held twice one year) and while the heart of Sonburst has stayed the same, a lot has changed. Over the years our concern has been to develop college students into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Training in areas such as scripture study, missions, discipleship, life-after college, evangelism & witness, multiethnicity & racial reconciliation and Old Testament studies are just some of the kinds of tracks we have offered.
